Nikon Z70 pre-order status

Pre-orders are not open because Nikon has not announced the camera. Nikon Rumors describes the Z70 as a very fast body in the spirit of the D500, and an October 29, 2026 note called it a professional APS-C (DX) camera. The November 5 spec list does not restate the sensor size, so DX is still a rumor, not a confirmed format.

When Nikon confirms the camera, authorized dealers such as B&H, Adorama, Amazon, Focus Camera, and Nikon Store often open pre-orders the same day. A high-speed DX flagship can sell through early allocations quickly, so it is worth watching more than one retailer.

Rumored specifications

The list below is Nikon Rumors’ November 5, 2026 update. Nikon has not confirmed these figures. Earlier reports of a 45MP stacked sensor conflict with this newer list, which says 41MP and not stacked. Use the November 5 list as the current rumor, not both at once.

  • Model: Nikon Z70 (rumored professional Z-mount body, often described as DX / APS-C)
  • Sensor: About 41MP, not a stacked sensor
  • Processor: EXPEED 7
  • Speed: 120 fps refresh with AF/AE; described as a very fast camera in the D500 class
  • Viewfinder: Same class as the Nikon Z6III, listed as 5,760k dots
  • Video: 8K 60p; ProRes RAW; “RED tech inside”
  • Controls: New REC button on the top plate
  • Reach: A new digital teleconverter mode
  • Price: Nikon Rumors says similar to the Z6III, “around or under $2,000.” That dollar figure is the rumor site’s estimate. The Z6III launched at $2,499.95
  • Timing: Expected within about two weeks of November 5, 2026. An earlier target of August–September has already slipped

The 1,260mm digital-teleconverter line

On October 29, 2026, Nikon Rumors published a promotional line said to come from a Nikon Singapore newsletter for the NIKKOR Z 120-300mm f/2.8 TC VR S: “Pair with the Z70’s Digital Teleconverter and reach stretches to an equivalent of 1,260mm at f/4.” Nikon has not confirmed that sentence or the camera.

The arithmetic only works if several unconfirmed assumptions are stacked: a DX 1.5x crop, the lens’s built-in 1.4x converter (168–420mm at f/4 on full frame), and then a 2x digital crop. 420mm × 1.5 × 2 is 1,260mm. That explains the number. It does not prove the Z70 is DX, or that the digital teleconverter is 2x, or how many pixels would be left after the crop.

Nikon Z70 FAQ

Is the Nikon Z70 officially announced?

No. Nikon has not announced a Z70. The current spec list is from Nikon Rumors on November 5, 2026.

When will Nikon announce the Z70?

Nikon Rumors says within about two weeks of November 5, 2026. The same reports say an August–September plan already slipped, so the date is not locked.

Is the Nikon Z70 a DX camera?

Rumor coverage, including Nikon Rumors, has called it a professional APS-C body and compared it with the D500. Nikon has not confirmed the sensor format.

How much will the Nikon Z70 cost?

No official price exists. Nikon Rumors estimates a price similar to the Z6III, around or under $2,000. The Z6III’s launch price was $2,499.95, so do not treat $2,000 as an MSRP.

Is the sensor 41MP or 45MP?

The November 5 rumor list says 41MP and not stacked. Older rumors said about 45MP and stacked. Those two claims do not match. Wait for Nikon’s spec sheet.

Is Nikon Z70 available for pre-order?

No. Pre-orders are not open. Use the table above and the email alert on this page for updates.
