Alienware AW3426DW overview
The AW3426DW is Dell’s newest 34-inch ultrawide OLED entry, following earlier Alienware QD-OLED monitors in the same size class. Dell chose the 280Hz version of Samsung Display’s 5th Gen Penta Tandem QD-OLED panel rather than the 360Hz version, aiming for a more balanced price point while still upgrading over previous 34-inch Alienware OLED monitors.
The panel includes an RGB-stripe subpixel layout for sharper and clearer text, plus an improved coating film for better ambient-light handling and stronger scratch resistance. Samsung Display refers to this coating technology as QuantumBlack film, though Dell does not appear to use that branding directly.

Display upgrades: RGB stripe and improved coating
One of the most important changes is the move to an RGB-stripe subpixel structure. Earlier OLED monitor text rendering could be affected by non-standard subpixel layouts, so the AW3426DW’s RGB-stripe panel should help with desktop clarity while still delivering OLED contrast and fast pixel response.
An improved semi-glossy coating film with stronger panel hardness, better ambient-light handling, and reduced purple tint compared with earlier QD-OLED generations. The coating is said to increase scratch resistance and hardness by 2.5x.
HDR, gaming, and burn-in mitigation
The Alienware AW3426DW supports Dolby Vision HDR and HDR10, with True Black 500 certification and a quoted 1300-nit peak brightness spec. Dell also includes a dedicated esports mode for 24.5-inch screen emulation, useful for players who prefer a smaller competitive viewport.
For OLED health, Dell is using a more efficient 5-stack Penta Tandem panel, a graphite sheet to disperse heat, per-pixel current adjustment via an enhanced AI algorithm, plus familiar pixel refresh and pixel shift features. Dell’s 3-year warranty includes burn-in cover.
